Our retail store is focused on taking classic vintage pieces and re-working them so they fit to a modern fit and standard quality. We specialize in 1920's-1960's leather goods, boots, and jackets,.The owner of Schaeffer's Garment Hotel has been a vintage buyer for 10 years and has carried that knowledge to make hard to find pieces to the customer at a lower cost than most. Schaeffers Garment Hotel is also a denim company that is manufactured in the store's shop area. We only run shuttle loom made denim from the U.S or Japan. Our house brand of denim is 15oz selvege denim that is meant to wear from the raw to your desired comfort and break in. We believe that things are made better when we do it ourself and it offers a better price point for quality garments. Schaeffers Garment Hotel also houses resident film and custom hat maker Mr. Gunner Foxx. Gunner hand makes hats for the everyday hat customer and films for time period pieces. The passion is the love of vintage denim and all the old type repairs that were done over the years to keep pairs alive. The need is a basic one. People have $10.00 jeans to $10,000.00 vintage denim that they are so attached to that they need them kept alive but only a denim specialist with the correct equipment and skills can handle these type of repairs. The owner ran a denim repair buisness for 4 years and greatly improved the buisness and repair processes. He loved it so much that he wanted to do his own, but with a faster turnaround; and manufacture denim for a company that strives for that good old USA quality. That is what we do here. We repair and alter any type of denim from a 10 dollar pair to your rarest 24oz Japanese denim. We have chainstiching machines, bar tacking machines, invisible repair machines, multiple type single needle machines, rivet machines, etc. We are denim nerds with major attention to detail and price point. Above using our Denim facility for repairs and manufacturing, we use it to alter and tailor all of our vintage garments and items. We are a one stop shop to fix, manufacture or purchase quality goods.GUNNER FOXX HOLLYWOOD HAT MAKER:Gunner Foxx is the only true hat maker in Los Angeles. He has been working under his grandfather since he was 10 years old. When Gunner was 18, he made hats for the key main actors for the film Gangs of New York. If there is a film out there that is worth remembering in the last 10 years and they are wearing great hats, Gunner has made them. He also does celebrities from Kat Von D to Johnny Depp. He custom makes each hat by hand and does everything from start to finish. There are a lot of places that claim they carry Gunners hats; they do not. Previously, Gunner has only created hats for films and specialty customers, and now has added Schaeffer's Garment Hotel to make hats exclusively for our customers. This is a service that most people do not know of, and, if so, they don't know how to make the contact. Gunner has been a part of the Schaeffer's Garment Hotel family for a while and now is offically working out of this store for anything hat related.
